General rental terms and conditions

Purpose

These general terms and conditions apply to any booking of the apartment La Poutre de Perlimpinpin, Rue de la Préfecture 11, 2608 Courtelary, whether made via the website perlimpinpin.ch, by email or by telephone. Any booking implies full and unreserved acceptance of these terms.

 

For bookings made through a third-party platform such as Airbnb, the booking, payment, security deposit and cancellation conditions specific to that platform apply. These general terms and conditions then apply only to aspects not covered by the platform, namely the house rules, the condition of the accommodation, and the guest’s liability.

Accommodation description

The apartment La Poutre de Perlimpinpin is a holiday home of approximately 80 m², located on the ground floor over two levels of a historic farmhouse dating back to 1767. It has 2 separate bedrooms and accommodates a maximum of 5 people (+1 baby).

Reservation

Every direct booking request is handled individually. The booking is only considered firm and final upon receipt of the security deposit and the agreed advance payment, within the timeframe communicated at confirmation. A booking form detailing the dates, amount and specific conditions of the stay is drawn up for each direct booking.

Pricing and payment

The applicable rates are those shown on the website perlimpinpin.ch at the time of booking, or those communicated at confirmation.

The total amount due is made up of three elements:
  • the price of the stay
  • the cleaning fee (120 CHF per stay)
  • the tourist and accommodation taxes (2 CHF per person over 16 years old per night, comprising 1 CHF municipal tourist tax and 1 CHF cantonal accommodation tax), the latter being collected separately in accordance with applicable regulations.

Payment is made as follows: 50% of the amount upon confirmation of the booking, with the balance due no later than 30 days before arrival.

Security deposit

A security deposit of 300 CHF is paid upon confirmation of the booking. It is refunded within 5 days of departure, provided no damage is found during the check-out inspection.

Cancellation policy

  • More than 30 days before arrival → full refund, deposit included.
  • Between 15 and 30 days → 50% of the stay retained, deposit refunded.
  • Less than 15 days → the full stay retained, deposit refunded.

In the event of cancellation by the host, the full amount paid is refunded within 5 days. Under Swiss law, there is no statutory right of withdrawal for this type of rental, these terms and conditions shall prevail.

Arrival and departure

Check-in from 3:00 PM until 9:00 PM, check-out by 11:00 AM.
Adjusted times can be arranged on request, subject to availability.

Rules and regulations

The guest agrees to comply with the house rules, in particular:

  • Maximum capacity: 5 people (+1 baby)
  • Pets not allowed
  • Smoking not allowed indoors
  • Parties and gatherings not permitted
  • To help protect the floors, please remove your shoes on entering the apartment
  • Please respect the quiet of the historic neighbourhood after 10:00 PM
  • Use of Wi-Fi is subject to a usage agreement sent before arrival

The full house rules are provided with the booking form and displayed in the apartment.

Rental company's obligations

The host undertakes to provide the described accommodation in good working order, consistent with the presentation given on the website and in the listings.

Liability

The guest is responsible for any damage caused to the accommodation and its furnishings during the stay. The host cannot be held liable for personal belongings lost, stolen or damaged during the stay, nor for disturbances or inconveniences beyond their control (weather conditions, network outages, force majeure events).

Force majeure

In the event of a force majeure occurrence making the stay impossible (natural disaster, administrative decision, etc.), the parties shall endeavour to find a fair solution – postponement of the stay or partial or full refund depending on the circumstances.

Data protection

Personal data submitted during booking is processed in accordance with our Privacy Policy.

Governing law and jurisdiction

These terms and conditions are governed by Swiss law. Any dispute shall be subject to the competent jurisdiction of the Canton of Bern.
